FloQast Names Ken Sims Senior Vice President, Business And Corporate Development

Seasoned SaaS and Cloud Computing Business Development Expert Joins Growing Management Team

LOS ANGELES  …  November 6, 2017  …  FloQast, Inc., a provider of close management software created by accountants for accountants to close the books faster and more accurately, announced today it has named Ken Sims senior vice president, business and corporate development.

In this newly created position, Sims will be responsible for forging strategic partnerships and creating distribution channels that assist in accelerating FloQast’s future growth. This includes building relationships with complementary software companies and establishing resale, referral and consulting partnerships with financial services firms. Sims will oversee all aspects of FloQast’s partner initiatives, including strategy development and operational execution. Furthermore, he will lead the company’s technology licensing and corporate development activities. As a recognized go-to-market strategist, Sims efforts will enable FloQast to increase market awareness, generate additional inbound leads, expand product capabilities and realize faster revenue growth.

Sims is a seasoned professional who brings nearly three decades of business development, sales and marketing expertise to his new role at FloQast. Over the course of his esteemed career, he has garnered significant experience working at a variety of SaaS-based and cloud computing companies across multiple domains, including IT infrastructure and marketing technology.

Most recently, he served as chief executive officer at Reach150, a SaaS provider of referral management marketing software for the real estate and lending markets. During his tenure, he developed the company’s go-to-market strategy, built the leadership team, oversaw product development and grew the business 800%.

Prior to Reach150, Sims was vice president of business development at SaaS pioneer Axcient, a provider of cloud-based disaster recovery services. At Axcient, Sims established an exclusive distribution deal with Ingram Micro, signed the largest managed service partner deal in the company’s history and oversaw the company’s first acquisition.

Earlier, as vice president of worldwide sales and business development at KACE, Sims established several strategic partnerships, including a resale relationship with computer manufacturer Dell. This resulted in significantly accelerated revenue growth for the company. The success of the Dell partnership led to its acquisition of KACE in February 2010. Following this acquisition, Sims continued to lead the KACE sales team within Dell, and launched its product internationally and grew the business 450% to more than $100 million in annual revenue over a two-year period.

Sims previously held executive roles in business development, sales and marketing with several leading technology companies in Silicon Valley, including security software vendor Oblix (acquired by Oracle), network caching innovator Inktomi and 3D graphics pioneer Silicon Graphics.

“We are excited to attract someone of Ken’s caliber and expertise to FloQast. He is a welcome addition to the team and understands both our innovative software approach and distinct target market. Ken has a proven track record in creating innovative partner strategies and establishing strong channel sales. His skills are the perfect fit for FloQast’s next level of growth. We look forward to Ken bringing to bear his talents on behalf of FloQast,” explained Michael Whitmire, CPA, co-founder and chief executive officer at FloQast.

Sims said of his new role: “The opportunity presented to me at FloQast is extremely exciting. The company’s pioneering software directly addresses a huge problem area every finance department faces: closing their books in a timely and accurate manner. FloQast’s solution provides a tangible and proven ROI by reducing close time — on average — more than three days. The solution is highly intuitive and extremely easy to deploy. I strongly believe that the right partnership ecosystem will help the company scale efficiently and presents enormous opportunities to achieve its significant market potential.”

Sims earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business economics and political science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
