Because I, myself, have not experienced the joys of parenthood, I recently spoke with a few colleagues about their experiences with FloQast’s child care and parental leave benefits programs.

FloQast has over 600 employees now, but only a handful embody the FloQast ways of working like Kimmy Garrison. Having joined the company as a business development representative — with no sales experience to speak of — Kimmy rose through the ranks rapidly, becoming an account executive, senior account executive, and, now a manager.

Along the way, Kimmy and her husband had two kids, leaning on FloQast’s parental benefits to provide the support they needed as their family grew.

How important is it for a company to have robust parental benefits for employees?

It is VERY important. I believe providing robust parental benefits demonstrates a commitment to the well-being of employees and their families. Being able to spend time with my newborn and my family was crucial. I needed that time to adjust and heal, as opposed to feeling stressed or burned out trying to come back to work too soon. Instead, I came back to work from parental leave more productive and better at my job! I blew out my quota and was promoted a few weeks later!

What impressed you most about FloQast’s parental benefits when you started researching them?

FloQast offers a multitude of benefits for family planning. Not only that, the HR team is constantly adding more benefits based on feedback from employees. If the HR teams come across something they think would benefit the employees, they’re figuring out how to get it! It was incredibly important to have the support of FloQast when planning how and when we wanted to build our family with my husband.

Did knowing FloQast’s parental benefits and policies give you peace of mind?

Yes! I am beyond grateful for the comfort that FloQast’s parental benefits and policies gave me and my family. When people think of parental benefits, they think of parental leave. Of course, FloQast offers parents an incredibly generous leave. What was it like working with HR throughout your journey (x2!)?

Our HR team is an absolute DREAM TEAM. Having gone through pregnancy twice at FloQast, I can say how much they value employee feedback. My first pregnancy was in 2020, and although the benefits were good, I had many ideas on ways to continue improving it. Two years later, when I had my second child, our parental benefits had grown tremendously. The HR team really took the feedback I gave from years prior. To feel heard in this and the fact that FloQast prioritized parental benefits showed me that employee happiness and family values are a major part of the FloQast culture. Is there anything more motivating for a working parent?!

Having recently returned from his paternity leave, Asoka (AJ) Jayasinghe, a three-year FloQast veteran and Customer Success Manager II, can best attest to FloQast’s parental leave and benefits policies because they’re fresh in his mind.

How important were FloQast’s parental benefits to you as you planned with your partner?

Extremely important. Knowing how much leave I would have was a deciding factor for when my wife went back to work.

Did knowing FloQast’s parental benefits and policies give you peace of mind?

Absolutely, I was able to care for my wife and newborn for 12 weeks due to the generous paternity leave provided by FloQast. The HR Team was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions and made it a VERY easy process.

How important is it for a company to have robust parental benefits for employees?

It is incredibly important! Having solid parental benefits makes the new baby process all the more enjoyable. I didn’t have to stress about leaving my family too soon to return to work, and my work tasks were all covered by my manager and team.

I can’t express my gratitude enough to FloQast and the HR Team, they made this process so easy and enjoyable. Having a baby is one of the biggest events in a person’s life, and FloQast was so supportive! Even when it comes to taking my kids to appointments, or missing work because they are sick, I have never once felt bad about that. FloQast and the entire leadership team is unbelievably supportive and kind!

What was it like working with HR throughout your journey?

I have never worked with a better HR department. Elizabeth [Palmisano, Human Resources Business Partner] was fantastic about having regular check-ins with me and making sure I understood everything. Clinton [Downs, Benefits Specialist] was so helpful with updating my benefits and making sure I was taking advantage of all the programs available to me.

When Sean Park joined FloQast in late-2017, he wasn’t really thinking about being a parent. But in the years since then, as his career took off and he and his wife started planning a family, he knew in the back of his mind that FloQast could offer the support they needed along the way.

How important were FloQast’s parental benefits to you as you were planning with your partner?

My wife and I always knew we would want to have a baby someday. It really helped to have such a supportive company, as I knew in the back of my mind that FloQast had many different benefits being offered, including Carrot fertility benefits and a Snoo rental program. Just knowing that FloQast had these types of benefits made it less stressful to begin family planning, as my wife and I knew that FloQast was so supportive of employees looking to start a family.

Absolutely! Knowing that FloQast has various options, such as the Carrot fertility program along with a generous paternity leave, gave us peace of mind. FloQast’s health insurance is also amazing, which helped with most of the costs throughout pregnancy and labor/delivery.

After working at FloQast for 6 years, it has become my workplace and my second family. I have such supportive colleagues and friends at FloQast and during such a significant moment in my life of welcoming my baby into this world, FloQast really played a significant role in allowing me to spend precious time with my family and providing me with amazing benefits! How important is it for a company to have robust parental benefits for employees?

I think this is huge. I never realized how important these benefits are when I first joined FloQast six years ago, but after getting married, I realized how important health insurance and parental benefits are. To be able to go to the doctor and not worry about a huge bill, or to be able to take time off to care for my wife and baby has truly been a blessing!

What was it like working with HR throughout your journey?

The HR team was incredibly supportive and cooperative throughout the entire process. I could genuinely feel that HR was so excited about helping me plan for the birth of my baby, and my wife was so surprised at how caring the company was when we received the FloQast baby swag package!
