FloQast Names Winners of Customer Awards at TakeControl: Accounting Amped Up Event
Among those honored is first-ever peer-nominated FloQast “Controller of the Year”
September 23, 2022 (LOS ANGELES) — FloQast, a provider of accounting workflow automation software created by accountants for accountants, today announced the winners of its customer awards program at its “TakeControl: Accounting Amped Up” virtual conference. An entirely new awards program for 2022, the accolades recognize FloQast users who have generated outstanding material impact to their business, as well as honor exceptional demonstration of accounting operational excellence and elevation of today’s accounting function.
This year, FloQast was proud to name Ashley Griesshammer, Controller at Lovevery, its first-ever Controller of the Year – defined as “An individual who builds strategic operational excellence within their organization, drives the accounting industry forward, and empowers others.” Griesshammer was chosen over more than 50 customer-nominated controllers for her improvement of processes and formalization of the accounting function at Lovevery as the organization continues to scale. This includes a full order-to-cash implementation of NetSuite and consistent hard-closing of months for the first time in the calendar year 2022, among other accomplishments. Her creation of the first accounting and finance internship program at Lovevery to develop young students interested in a career path in accounting was also a major factor in her win.
“Many thanks to FloQast for this award, and I will say this honor is as much for the larger Lovevery accounting team as it is for me,” she said. “Helping a company scale and evolve is not a one-person job, and I give full credit to my colleagues for our recent, and future successes.”
Additional award honorees included:
- Operational Excellence Award – Rene Jacques, Corporate Controller, Shapeways – recognized for exceptional, innovative use of FloQast ReMind, Ops, Flux and AutoRec to enable 360-degree visibility across the accounting team, reducing time to close.
- Best Material Impact Award – Geena Lewis, Accounting Manager, PulteGroup – recognized for early adoption of FloQast ReMind to manage 102 active requests to empower more collaborative thinking from a brand and shared services perspective.
- Office of the CFO Innovation Award – Jennifer Lennon, Vice President of Accounting and Finance, FlightAware – recognized for early adoption of FloQast Ops and a unique application of the solution to identify repetitive payroll tasks to streamline both upstream and downstream processes.
“The accounting profession is one that is often under-recognized and under-appreciated, and also not quick to pat itself on the back,” said Mike Whitmire, co-founder and CEO of FloQast, inactive CPA. “That’s why we’re so pleased to honor these individuals who have made tremendous strides in both demonstrating operational excellence within their organizations and also elevating the profession as a whole.”
All winners received a custom engraved trophy and have the opportunity to name a charity to which FloQast will make a monetary donation.
