FloQast TakeControl 2023: Insights and Takeaways
For some, it’s the start of football season. For others, it’s the start of school. But for me, summer ends once TakeControl is in the books.
And what a TakeControl 2023 it was. This week, TakeControl: Charting the Future of Accounting featured more than 18 sessions, including a keynote on the future of the profession from FloQast co-founder and CEO, Mike Whitmire, a riveting Q&A with Mike and Matt Wilpers, a former CPA and current Peloton instructor (and fitness influencer), and entertainment from the wonderfully bizarre Puddles Pity Party.
On September 13-14, over 3,000 FloQast users were treated to 19 CPE and/or CPD-eligible sessions worth up to 16 CPE and three CPD credits, making the fifth annual user event the largest one to date! Let’s take a look at what went down.
Firing Out of the Gate
Featuring insights from experts in the U.S. and the U.K., the event kicked off Wednesday morning with experts from Oracle Netsuite discussing top CFO trends in finance and accounting for EMEA in 2023.
Later, co-founders Cullen Zandstra, CTO, and Chris Sluty, CPO, were joined by Josh Scott, senior strategic product manager, and host Stefan van Duyvendijk to discuss the future of generative AI in finance and accounting, aiming to separate the hype from reality, and what’s to come.
Throughout the following day and a half, accounting leaders and experts engaged in comprehensive discussions covering topics such as how the current economic landscape may impact accounting teams, strategies to alleviate employee burnout, optimizing technology deployment, and implementing best practices with FloQast.
Big Product News
FloQast had some very exciting news to share at TakeControl 2023. This week, we announced several new additions to its cloud-native Accounting Operations Platform, which enables customers to streamline and manage the Financial Close, Finance and Accounting Operations, and Compliance Programs. These additions are designed to both improve the way accounting teams work and enhance their professional development:
- FloQast Variance Analysis, for Finance and Accounting teams who need to monitor and manage business and budgetary performance through flux and budget variance analysis.
- Free Public CPE/CPD courses from FloQademy, FloQast’s learning portal, which for the first time are available at no cost to everyone – whether or not they’re a FloQast customer. FloQademy bucks the notion that CPE/CPD content has to be boring and instead makes it fun, offering access to an on-demand library of entertaining and engaging learning and professional development content.
- Strengthening Compliance Management, inspired by rapid user adoption and feedback, for even greater audit readiness and agility through central management and integration of compliance into business processes.
Stay tuned for more information on the latest editions to the FloQast platform!
That’s a Wrap!
With another amazing TakeControl in the books, we can’t thank our sponsors, attendees, and presenters enough. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes and we hope everyone had a great time!
