“At the End of the Day, FloQast Wanted Us to Be Successful With Our Close Management”

In an industry where adherence to outdated processes is much more common than seeking out newer solutions, many accounting departments are still unaware of what close management software is — and how it could positively impact multiple areas of their operations.
Prior to joining his current company, Dosh, the card-linked offer platform that automatically puts cash into the wallets of millions of consumers whenever they shop, dine, and book hotels, Vincent Gomez was in the market for a close management software solution at another Austin-based company where he led a team of 10.
Identifying what he believed to be the right fit, Gomez selected BlackLine, confident that the product would offer the benefits he was sold.

“My first time implementing close management software was at a private company back in 2015,” Gomez recalled in a recent webinar. “I implemented BlackLine on a one-year deal just to be sure that if it didn’t turn out as advertised, I’d be able to part ways without investing too much time. The BlackLine implementation ended up going sideways, and my team never fully adopted the system. That was when I started looking for alternatives and discovered FloQast.”
Once he understood that a switch needed to be made, it didn’t take long for Gomez to understand that FloQast was the right fit. So confident was he that this was the solution he was looking for, Gomez opted for a three-year deal instead of hedging his bet with a one-year contract — something that helped him get out of the BlackLine failure.
“FloQast is intuitive to use and simple to implement,” said Gomez. “More importantly, it literally gives me 100% confidence in the management of our entire close process and to tie it off our balance sheet reconciliations every month.”
Now using FloQast with Dosh, Gomez swears by it.
“At the end of the day, FloQast just really wanted me to be successful with our close management. I really feel they truly believed — and still believe — in their product solution. I know I do.”
