We announced this week that we’re opening a new office in Columbus, Ohio. We also announced that we’ve brought on board Todd Ellwood to run our sales organization who is starting up the new office in Ohio.
Why Ohio? Why Todd?
Ohio is home to a well-educated populace boasting 14 four-year state universities and 24 branch and regional campuses for the public university system alone. It is also in the eastern time zone which when you’re based in Los Angeles, means employees are in the office pretty early to work with our east coast customers. Lastly, the city of Columbus is within 500 miles of 50% of the US population making visiting our customers that much more easy. And while all these are good reasons, there is one other big reason for Ohio and that is Todd.
Todd was born and raised in Ohio and continues to reside in Columbus today. Todd joins FloQast from Dell where he set the strategic direction for the Dell Software Group’s systems management portfolio. Before that he was the worldwide vice president of sales for endpoint systems management. In almost all his roles, Todd has been responsible for leading sales efforts and building and managing teams of sales professionals. He also did this at Quest Software which was acquired by Dell. And it was at Quest where he first established an Ohio office that helped grow and scale that company.
FloQast is growing rapidly. We’re now adding new customers like Dollar Shave Club, Puppet, RedFin, Okta, and Griffin Capital daily. Not only are we growing our customer base quickly, but also our employees. Last year we grew our employee base by 90% and expect to exceed that number this year. Taking a cue from Quest, our new Ohio office offers us a way to fuel that expansion while balancing geographic time zones and helping us to best serve accounting teams all over the country. For these reasons, FloQast is now back to Ohio!
